NEMA is conducting a short film competetion – an opportunity which will bring the hidden talents to the fore. You can enter the competetion by submitting an entry before June 15th, more details here. Jessica sings

Jessica Sunny gave her debut performance during the recently concluded Spring fever talent show. Folks who watched her performance have no doubt that Jessica is a talent to watch for, this 4 year old is a student of Little Learner’s Pre-school in Billerica. Jessica’s favorite characters are Cinderella and Ariel. She likes to dance and listen to music. Jessica picks up a tune very fast, especially the BGM parts of any song.

New Singer – Muhaseen

Recently, for Spring Fever 2009, we were treated with 2 beautiful songs. Muhaseen, who recently moved from Philadelphia to Boston area was the singer. Please visit Muhaseen’s blog to listen to beautiful renderings of many popular songs. Muhaseen is employed at Fidelity Investments. While we welcome Muhaseen to New England, We are looking forward to listening to this talented singer in the future programs.

An evening with Sreeniyaan Twenty-20

Another wonderful program visited Boston on Friday, May 1. One thing which touched the Bostonians was the humility of stars including Sreenivasan who had time and inclination to strike up a conversation with those who wanted to have a few words with him. His speech during the program too was philosophy wrapped in humor – the style he specialized in his movies. The way the program started was innovative – interactive session using projector – this was a first for a stage program. Roma and Manikuttan had amazing energy on stage and came out as top performers. The upcoming singer Nitin Raj has very good stage presence and struck up good rapport with audience. The comedy team comprising Kottayam Nazeer, Kalabhavan Navaz and Niyaz were excellent and had the audience in splits. Few members of audience commented that the reenactment of movies(mimicry) – Jurassic Park, Titanic, Katha Parayumbol, CBI Diary – was slightly overdone and there should have been more variety. Similarly there was varied opinions on song selections as well. And then there were usual comments about venue – parking, air conditioning etc. But most of us were too excited to note these minor issues.
