Sreeniyaan Twenty-20

Boston is fortunate to play host to talented actor/Screen writer/Director Sreenivasan and his team of talented artists on May 1, 2009.  Sriniyaan Twenty-20 will be held in Arlington.  There is no other Screen writer in Kerala who knows the pulse of general public like Sreenivasan. The movies he penned reflects the Socio-Political landscape of  Kerala. Movies like Sandesham, Sanmanassulavarkku Samadhanam, Vadakku Nokki Yantram, Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala etc are few of the movies created by this genius. We are all looking forward to meet and see  Sreeni and his colleagues perform at Arlington School auditorium on May 1st. More details of Sreeniyaan Twenty-20 here.

President Obama against getting foreign nurses

From the White House Health care summit, President Obama:

“The notion that we would have to import nurses makes absolutely no sense,” he said at a White House Forum on Health Care on Thursday when a lawmaker pointed out that America’s huge shortage of nurses may mount to over 500,000 in the next seven years.

“And there are a lot of people who would love to be in that helping profession, and yet we just aren’t providing the resources to get them trained, that’s something that we’ve got to fix,” he said in response to the question from Democrat Lois Capps, who is one of the three nurses in the US Congress[Obama against Foreign nurses].

And there is a legislation to cap the number of foreign nurses allowed per year:

To overcome the huge shortage of nurses a bill was introduced in the US Congress last week to provide for the new category of visas for registered nurses with an annual limit of 50,000. The proposed “Nursing Relief Act of 2009” would make it much faster and easier to bring trained nurses from Asian countries [Obama against Foreign nurses].
